INTRODUCTION

The FORNNAX Steel Cleaning Plant has various Internal Processing Stages for steel cleaning that produce high-quality steel. Utilizing uncleaned steel as an input, this highly automated system consists of a secondary shredder and various separating equipment to produce 99% clean and high- density steel.

Two options are available for the steel cleaning system,

  • Option: 1 “Online steel cleaning system” with an additional secondary shredder that produces 99% of clean steel wire.
  • Option 2 “Stand-alone steel cleaning systems” without an additional secondary shredder. It is an integrated part of the Fornnax Tyre Recycling Plant that produces 94% of clean steel wire.

PROCESS STAGES

Tyre Steel Cleaning Plant

Shredding

At this stage, uncleaned tyre steel is fed into Fornnax R-Series secondary shredder through a conveyor feed system. This unit is heavy-duty medium-speed equipment with a screening system. This process liberates rubber and Fibre from steel wire and then separates through the over-band magnet.

Steel Cleaning and Textile Separation

The feed conveyor system feeds the material into the steel cleaner and fibre separator at this stage. The liberated fibre (textile) and rubber are separated through steel cleaner. The liberated rubber material is then routed to the Auto Bag Filling System via a conveyor and pneumatic conveying system. Steel is routed through a drum magnet; this secondary magnetic separation removes the remaining leftover rubber. It provides a high-quality clean with a purity of up to 99%.
