CONSTRUCTION AND DEMOLITION DEBRIS (C&D WASTE)

C&D waste accounts for a considerable proportion of municipal waste, which includes C&D debris generated during the demolition of buildings, roads, bridges, and other sectors. It includes wood, brick, clay tile, asphalt shingles, drywall, plastics, carpet, cardboard, concrete, and steel. C&D waste can easily be recycled into new materials, making it a valuable resource.

ABOUT WASTE GENERATION

Construction and demolition waste is a vital concern of India’s state municipalities, as the CW generated in India is 150 MT. The data shows the debris generated in India is 35%-40% of the global C&D waste annually. The Center for Science and Environment estimates that India recycles only 2% of the C&D waste in today’s account.

FORNNAX SOLUTION FOR C&D WASTE

Fornnax C&D Waste pre-shredders are robust and manufactured from wear-resistant knives that handle sand and metal contaminants. The system consists of a magnetic separator and sorting system that transforms these wastes to recover precious resources used in various construction applications.

OUTPUTS AND THEIR APPLICATION

Concrete waste obtained from waste C&D is used to make new concrete. Gypsum waste is used to produce new drywall. Wood waste is available, and 40% of the total C&D waste is used to produce fuel, often used in waste-to-energy facilities, cement kilns, and paper-producing plants. Recycled asphalt pavements (RAP) can be recycled into more high-quality pavements than virgin materials.
