Bulky waste is a technical term used in waste management to describe waste types too big to be accepted by standard waste collection. In many countries, it is frequently collected from the streets or pavements of the area. Discarded furniture (couches, tables, recliners), oversized appliances (televisions, refrigerators, ovens), and plumbing fixtures (toilets, bathtubs, sinks) are all considered bulk waste items. Brush, logs, Branches, and other green waste are also categorized as bulky waste. However, they may be collected separately for shredding.
According to the Solid Waste Management Rules 2016, households, commercial places, hotels, and hospitals that generate an average waste rate exceeding 100 kg per day (of all waste streams) are considered bulk waste generators. Bulk waste is generated by large cities in India, such as Mumbai, Delhi, Ludhiana, Coimbatore, Chennai, Ahmedabad, and many others.
Fornnax pre-shredder and secondary shredders are available for a variety of recycling methods. For example, – pre-shredded waste that is <150 mm in size with a calorific value from 9 to 11 MJ/Kg is ideal for waste combustion plants and power plants. During pre-shredding, heavy metal is broken down into small particles. In addition, screening, sorting of heavy partial systems, and secondary shredding take place to manage bulky waste.
Pre-shredding bulky waste enables compact material loading, which cuts transportation costs. The focus behind the processing of these bulky products is to give them a new formation for secondary usable purposes. It produces Refuse-derived fuel that generates energy at recovery facilities and delivers electricity and hot water for communal heating systems.
