Commercial and industrial waste comprises dry waste generated by companies, production facilities, and offices. Plastic, paper and paperboard, rubber, resins, wood, metals, glass, and organic materials are among the valuable materials it contains. Rather than dumping them in landfills, it’s a valuable raw material source that can be transformed into fuels. Fornnax primary and secondary shredders are highly efficient for shredding commercial and industrial waste, separating valuable materials from trash, and producing residue-derived fuel (RDF) and solid recovered fuel (SRF).
Once this waste is accumulated, all materials are recycled and updated for the subsequent output.
Pre-Shredding:
Untreated industrial and commercial waste is routed to a primary shredder via dosing hoppers to select materials for sorting in one step. The sorting process becomes faster when the waste is homogeneous for screening and separation.
Metal Separation:
Optionally, a permanent magnet on the upper side of the conveyor belt is used to extract the scrap iron. These ferromagnetic materials are premium solids that can be transformed into recovered fuel.
Screening:
There are various screening technology types available to meet your requirements. It includes drum screens, filters, vibratory screens, or disk screens. It is possible to extract multiple fractions in this process step, such as fine particles < 30 mm and oversize fractions, to obtain high-quality SRF.
Secondary Shredding:
In the final stage of the process, the material is shredded a second time, called fine shredding. Pre-shredded and screened material free of foreign particles, heavy fractions, and metals is fed into secondary shredders. The output of the secondary shredder is known as solid recovered fuel (SRF)—capacity up to 25 metric tons of final premium SRF per hour.
The pre-shredder’s 50-150 mm output suits waste-to-energy (WtE) plants.
The secondary shredder’s 50-80 mm output is used, alternative fuels refuse-derived fuel (RDF) and recovered solid fuel (SRF) suitable for cement plants
